Beef and chicken are the most popular meats during Christmas for a good reason. Here goes:

Step 1:
Prepping the meat
I marinate both beef and chicken at least 12 hours before cooking them - This ensures that they get really delicious! Just prepare your ingredients as follows: 2 tsp salt 5 cloves garlic (crushed) 4 tbsp oyster sauce ½ tsp five-spice powder 3 tbsp sugar A dash of pepper 1 tbsp curry powder Oil for frying For the beef, add 1 tbsp fish sauce. For the chicken, add 2 tsp of salt instead of the five-spice powder
Step 2:
Cooking Just follow your preferred method of cooking beef or chicken - You can fry them, stew them in soy sauce or simply cook it with beer! Now for this Christmas dinner meal, I decided to use my Instant Pot to cook both meats together. Ingredients for the beef and chicken are combined as follows: 1kg - 1.5kg beef (cut into big chunks) 2 whole chicken legs (drumstick included) 4 stalks spring onion (sliced diagonally) 5 cloves garlic (crushed) ½ cup water The sauce is made with these ingredients: 3 tbsps oyster sauce 2 tbsps sugar Pinch of pepper
Step 3:
Portioning and plating After cooking, I took out the beef and chicken from the Instant Pot, ditched the spring onions and added them to a bowl. I then poured in all of the juices from both meats into this same bowl. The sauce is now ready for use! For ease of presentation, you can choose to take apart both parts of the meat (one bone per portion) or leave it as is (recommended for those who like their meat extra tender). Lastly, take out that scrumptious sauce and pour it on top! Vegetables such as broccoli and carrots also go well with this meal. Serve hot with rice!
